Database Authentication

Remote off-campus access:
Remote off-campus access to databases is indicated by an "*" whereby searches off-campus have been enabled. You will be asked for your Student I.D. number.
A current and activate student network account is required. When accessing any of our electronic subscriptions from off-campus you will be prompted to provide your Student ID number and the password that you created when activating your Student Account.

Library Cards

All library patrons require an NVIT Photo ID card or Community Borrower card. Cards are issued at the library circulation desk daily at the beginning of each semester.

 Equipment & Facilities

Internet Access

The library has 22 computer workstations with internet access.
Registered students can print to a student designated printer. Printing for community patrons is 10 cents a page.

Wireless Access

Wireless network access in the library is available to all patrons.

Printers

There is one student dedicated printer in the library. Registered students receive 250 free copies per semester. Additional printing can be purchased at the circulation desk. Community patrons are charged 10 cents a page.

Meeting / Study Rooms

There are two study rooms available for patron use on a first come-first serve basis. These rooms must be booked at the circulation desk.

Computer Labs

There are 20 computers availabe in the computer lab for patron use. There are 2 computers outside of the computer lab for wheel-chair access. The library has one stand-up OPAC kiosk in Merritt and one in Burnaby.

Academic Calendar

NVIT is on a semester system with classes scheduled in the Fall (September to December), Spring (January to April) and Summer (May to August).

Class schedules can be viewed on NVIT Connect through the external NVIT website or through the myNVIT portal.
